Celebrating Laura Ashley's 70th anniversary

As one of the world's best-loved home and lifestyle brands, Laura Ashley, head to celebrate their 70th birthday, EMA Lighting is going to take a look at some of the heritage brand's outstanding designs currently available at our showrooms and online store. 

We have had the pleasure to be a stockist of the British designer company since the early 2000s and it is an honour to continue to make exclusive products available to our customers as the brand continues to grow. 

First up, The Pippa Pendant, where vintage farmhouse meets urban kitchen! With pretty frilled edges like a ballerina’s tulle skirt, the petite Pippa pendant ceiling light from Laura Ashley is a delight. Also reminiscent of the undulations on a clam shell or pie crust, the Pippa is in smoked glass and is teamed with fittings in aged brass and a matching flat round ceiling rose. This charming pendant shade will suit a smaller room; place strategically over a task area, or you could arrange several in a row or staggered cluster over a kitchen island. Upon fitting, you can adjust the length of the twisted black braided-fabric feature flex to alter the height to suit your space (14. 5–115cm); it is suitable for lower ceilings and smaller rooms.

If you are a fan of the contemporary design, then the Atherton range might be just for you. With clear textured glass, the globe shades of the elegant Atherton ceiling light from Laura Ashley partially conceal the light bulbs and cast a sparkly light. Featuring a magnificent seven lights, it has a luxurious contemporary look and, with a nod to the Space Age, great mid-century style. As it is a semi-flush light fitting, the stem conceals the cables, giving a neat finish. It is perfect for larger rooms and lower ceilings. 

And to finish off on a high- recently, the Sorrento range got an upgrade and is now available in antique brass finish with a blue velvet shade. It is chic and on-trend, boasting three lights on candelabra style arms, all encased in a luxury velvet drum shade with a soft gold metallic inner. A centre rod extends from a round, Art Deco style, stepped base, plus a discreet gold cable with convenient in-line rocker switch. A colour combination which will look great in any home.
